Furtur is a powerful Great Earl of Hell who loves to tell lies and can be very tricky unless compelled to enter a magic triangle where he gives true answers to every question, speaking with a hoarse but musical voice. This demon responds only to abstract things and likes to divert the conversation. Furfur causes love between a man and woman, creates storms, thunder, lightning, and blasts, and teaches secret and divine things. He has a great passion for war and can incite feelings of strife in his followers.

He appears as a muscular, winged deer with a fiery tail, human arms and legs, and grayish skin with a black mane. On his muscular arms are bracelets used for protection, and his hands end with sharp nails that can draw blood. Alternatively, he may appear as a faceless black horse with a fiery mane. His chest is engraved with fire. He sometimes appears as a beautiful female angel with blonde hair and blue eyes, a form he also adopts when compelled to be within the magic triangle. His name is likely a corruption of Latin: furcifer, lit. 'scoundrel'.[1]

Furfur can teach astral shapeshifting and also grants protection against enemies. When possessed with this spirit, one becomes very skillful in speaking heresy to deceive and mislead people, and he gives assistance in the pursuit of monetary gain to the point of wealth. This demon rules over introspection, attraction, transformation, carnal ego, and aggressive behavior. He can cause havoc on a person's introspection and can aid in the dissolution of the ego. Sometimes he inspires sexual deviancy for his own pleasure. He helps raise energy and aids in fire scrying.[2][3]
