Found objects are artifacts of daily life considered to have magical properties, either by standard modern superstitions or based on the personal worldview of their finder. They are most often used as a symbolic link to a person or a place, a totem or power-animal identification (in the case of feathers or other animal remains), or as a currency of good fortune.
