Essay:Articles as sigils

I usually follow a basic two-step process when writing a wiki article, which repeats indefinitely. First, I'll copy in information from another article, sometimes word for word. Then when I eventually get back to it, I combine redundant or unnecessary information and put common data in an infobox. And so it goes.

But isn't this a lot like making sigils? At least in chaos magick. You write your intent, remove the vowels, then combine in steps until it's totally unrecognizable. What results is a symbol very dense in meaning, overlapping like with like.

So then, what does that make a fully realized wiki article? A distillation of the essence of the thing it describes? Perhaps the very URI "para.wiki/w/Magic" is a sigil which embodies magic exactly as described within that article. Or perhaps it's even more, a fully realized spell, like an alchemy circle. Which makes this wiki a spell made of spells.
