Nigromancy (Latin: niger, lit. 'black' and Greek: manteia, lit. 'prophecy') is black magic particularly dealing with summoning the denizens of Hell.
History
In medieval times, Nigromancy was used used interchangeably with necromancy even though it properly relates to the summoning of Demons and Demonic varieties of goetic magic.
The term "Goetic Magic" was used by the Neoplatonists (Plotinus and his followers) to mean magic used for profit, and it was divided into natural magic, magic that exploits the magical properties of natural objects and Demonic magic, which is concerned with the coercion of spirits.[1]
