Due to the nature of Parachan's material, magick or magic are commonly mentioned, even when the "correct" spelling is somewhat disputed among occult communities. For purposes of consistency, magic should be used to refer to broad classes of magic, any practices which attempt to influence the world using rituals, symbols, actions, gestures and language; generally any kind of intentioned supernatural phenomena. Conversely, magick is used when the practitioners of that form largely use the word magick (as with chaos magick).

Reasons

Within occult communities, the additional k in the spelling is used to distance their practices from the stigma of what modern society has associated with fantasies. However, "magic" in the stage magic sense is not paranormal and thus not covered by para.wiki, leading to no ambiguity. The use of magick is contentious and a newer idea, so we err on the side of tradition.

Practices

All mentions in-article of magick and magic should use the appropriate spelling for their usage. Article titles, however, should use the appropriate spelling of the terms as the main article, but have redirects using the other term (as long as doing so doesn't conflict with other articles). This is to accommodate those unfamiliar with the difference. Articles with conflicts should ideally have a reference to the other article at the top.
