Talk:Massive /x/ Dump (games)

Ok, let's discuss it here. What should be done with links which have their own article? I suggest we make sure the link is mentioned in-article, maybe with a reference to the dump, and replace the link with a wikilink.

I was thinking that eventually we wouldn't need the dump. Of course, some things can't really have their own articles, but I don't think that they need to be linked in the dump as well if we can fit them in articles unless it's something significantly different from what's mentioned in its respective article.

At the same time, the dump is a piece of /x/ history. To outright replace links would deteriorate the data contained therein - the articles mentioned within the dump.
The dump was really just a collection of stuff talked about and posted on /x/ in creepy threads and from the archives. Sure, it's a piece of /x/ history in that it's something that happened, but would it not do to just mention that it existed (Is this even something to mention as part of /x/'s history? It's really just a resource like the archives.) if its content is to be expanded and reworked? If we replace the sticky it'll be irrelevant. I'm not seeing why we should keep links if articles will explain some of the applicable stuff in more detail. The only links I think should stay in the dump are the ones that have no place in their own articles or articles of other material.
But then how would curious people know some of the informarion/links came from the dump? We need more people to voice opinions on this...
