Strange characters

• Stange characters starting with % and a number are appearing in articles while editing. I think they tend to come up in external and internal links, effectively destroying the link. It is impossible to remove them. See Current events. What MediaWiki version are we using? Magos 04:30, 17 Apr 2004 (BST)
