Oz factor

The "oz factor" or "oz effect" is a term coined by ufologist Jenny Randles to describe a peculiar state of mind which accompanies many authentic abduction reports. It's characterized by depersonalization, derealization, sudden absence of sound (natural or otherwise), missing time, loss of control of one's body, mental fog, and amnesia. Occasionally it'll be accompanied by the victim being surrounded by a thick haze. There appears to be a component of proximity with this effect, as it's very rarely induced by sightings at a distance.[1]
