The Cross of Salem is a cross with 3 equidistant bars arranged along a vertical line. It's very similar to the pontifical cross and the ancient version of the hebrew letter samekh. Within the Knight's Templar, the cross reserved for the insignia of the supreme leadership,[1] and this symbol is similarly used within Masonic traditions.[2] Historically, it has its roots in the cross of Chnoubis, an ancient Gnostic deity.[3] It can be easily formed from within a hexagram.
