Conspiracy theory

A conspiracy theory is any attempt to explain an event or phenomena as caused by some controlling power whose influence, goals, or possibly even existence is concealed from public knowledge, discourse, or awareness. Claims of conspiracy range from secret societies that run every aspect of our lives to aliens secretly in contact with government officials to alternate theories on the motive and assassination of president John F. Kennedy.
