Reference in Culture

Alcohol is a very common substance found in beverages like: beer, wine, vodka, liquor, mead, and champagne. The most common method of producing the beverages is by Fermentation in which yeasts breaks down sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Earliest traces of alcohol we've found dates back 7000-5600 BC and was consisted of honey mead and rice beer.

One of the first mentions of alcohol in the Bible is by Melchizedek in Genesis 14:18: "brought forth bread and wine".

In Galatians 5:21, it is recommended to avoid being drunk: "and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.s I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."

Connection to gluttony

When a person overeats and fills the stomach with food, especially acidic meats combined with sugary fruits, the stomach cannot digest the content before the it starts to ferment. The fermentation then creates a quite high amount of alcohol which affects the person. This is the reason why many feel light headed after eating a lot of food and may explain children's drowsiness after eating.[1] It is important to avoid overeating if the person is pursuing a spiritual experience as the alcohol will prevent enlightenment in the body.

Enlightenment

Many religions and beliefs either forbid alcohol consumption or recommend to drink with responsibility. Alcohol consumption is strictly forbidden in Muslim countries where Sharia prevails. The punishment is severe for being caught drinking or distilling alcohol for sale and can be punished with up to 80 lashes with a whip. However, some Muslims carve and smoke apples or use water pipes, which in some cases can ferment and produce alcohol which is inhaled.

It is explained through metaphors in the New Testament of the Bible that alcohol and acid cut or chemically split the oil that unites with the mineral salts in the body which helps with the 33 steps of the Kundalini awakening which leads to enlightenment.[2]

Alcohol also dehydrates the body to extreme levels which puts the body in a small shock. Stress and adrenaline will prevent spiritual progress.
