Sysop Status
I've given you sysop status (I think). Mostly it lets you move and delete pages. You may wish to have a play to get the hang of it before doing it in "anger".
At some point, as this grows, we should sort out a clear policy on content and conflicts. (Although ultimately I have the database root password!).
One issue is what to do about "fluffy" articles like the little wiccan ones added recently, which were OK, but assumed that you actually knew what the words like Handfasting meant and just had commentary. I edited them to add a definition to the top and wikify the text.
Actually we should probably have a page for this kinda discussion... Maybe Project:Discussions!

It could be an interesting way to develop personal ideas. In fact it harks back to my original idea of creating a personal wiki-of-shadows for myself. Maybe after/if a few more people create these pages we could suggest guidelines on what should be flagged as a "resource" or as "personal ideas". Maybe we should use the "User:Magos" page for this stuff. I dunno. I like the idea of people being allowed to create a few personal-idea nodes for different subjects, or even for their differing ideas. Some days I'm 'mr science' and others I practically believe in reincarnation. Either way it's going to be interesting just seeing how my ideas evolve and having a log to look back on them.
- I think personal pages can be very useful in the wiki. I like the idea of having a page and changing its content according to my current views, and then (after many months perhaps) browsing its history to see how my ideas have changed and trying to spot what caused the change. I don't know whether this kind of page should be "Ideas of Magos" or "User:Magos" but I don't have a strong preference on this issue, as long as every "personal ideas page" is clearly marked as such. I think "User:Magos" should just list contact info or some personal info such as registration date etc, but again we can use subpages like "User:Magos/Ideas". Userpages don't appear by hitting the "Random page" link or by searching (with the default settings), but it all depends on whether we think that visitors to this site enjoy reading personal pages. If you take 'detecting an aura' to be a 6th (7th, 8th?) sense then it's reasonable to assume there are currently no good words to express the media detected by this sense, but trained Synaesthesis coule allow people to see the aura information as colours in a useful way.
- "The American physicist Richard Feynman admitted to seeing the algebraic symbols of Bessel functions in colour." I have heard many strange stories abour Mr. Feynman but this one really excites me. Very interesting. Yes I knew about synaesthesia but I haven't investigated it deeply. Magos 19:21, 19 Oct 2004 (BST)
