George Ivanovich Gurdjieff was a Greek-Amernian mystic from Armenia.

The Russian philosopher Ouspensky was one of Gurdjieff's students. Gurdjieff first took action in Moscow and later, after the Communists took the power, he went to France to continue his spiritual activities. It is reported that he fought against the Nazi during the Second world war, but some people also believe he once met Adolf Hitler in person, with the purpose of the meeting being unknown.
