Abhinavagupta was a 10th-century Kashmiri teacher and synthesist of Tantra traditions. A prolific author (thought to have written over 50 works), he wrote numerous texts on philosophy, aesthetics, and Tantra, including the influential Tantraloka and the Paratrisika Vivarana - "A trident of wisdom". Abhinavagupta is closely associated with the so-called non-dual Kashmiri Shaivism tradition. Many of Abhinavagupta's works deal with the exposition of the Trika and Kaula lineages of Tantra, and influenced later Tantric lineages such as Sri Vidya.
