Damn, I was going to write something here, but checking up on names, I found that the Wikipedia has a lot of good stuff already. Somebody else expand on this? :)

If I understand the GNU Documentation License it should be fine to life stuff from wikipedia so long as you add a link to the origonal.

See: http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_FDL

Actually, I might make a script for lifting relevant pages from wikipedia. They make a good starting place, but it is probable that they'll go in a different direction as we are not insisting on a neutral point of view etc.

Elsewere: I don't know what your stance is on libellous statements, but the description of Ian Read as a "National Front activist" in that Wikipedia entry is certainly potentially libellous. Aog 09:38, 5 Sep 2003 (BST)

Hmm. Interesting point, I'll remove it then as it's not very important to the article.

Sometimes they are described as sad old fascists.

Is this a common identification then, of chaos magicians with being fascists? Aog 06:12, 8 Sep 2003 (BST)

Dunno. Most I've met were cool young fascists. I just cut-and-pasted this text to act as starting point. Feel free to correct it if you know about the subject.

I wrote an overview of Chaos Magic to replace less informational Wikipedia page. Please review and comment as necessary! I feel that the Wikipedia page should now be dropped, except for the little historic part.

Oh and about fascists. There's this classic essay: Why Chaos Magicians Are Such Assholes. Recommended.

We are not all assholes. Not that I'm claiming not to be. Just not for those reasons. Seriously though, I can see the point of that essay, for the longest time I had the most HUMONGUS ego, after I got over it I started calling it the "god complex" where you feel that your the only one who knows "the truth" about the universe ect... I still catch myself thinking hat way from time to time. Wonder if I'll ever really learn!
