An indian writer who did a bunch of half-assed meditation, activated his Kundalini, blew himself up, and then told the tale. Over and over and over again.

_________

Amusing as the curiously asinine tenor of the above entry may be... in reality GK was a brilliantly inspiring and reassuringly human spiritual aspirant who gained permanent entry into levels of consciousness unknown to 99.99999% of the current human population. Yes, his books are repetitive - but what he's saying bears repeating.

And three hours of intense meditation every single day for over 20 years isn't really "half-assed." It's pretty full-assed.

The issue with Gopi Krishna is that he's famous for how he used his Kundanlini unwisely in the early days, damaging his body and mind. What is left out of most people's understandings of his work is that the initial practices he did were extremely ill-advised and more or less certain to cause trouble. Hence, he's seen as having made a career of being a bad example.

Necessary, perhaps, and I can't speak for his later evolution, but he's definitely left a lot of people with some very funny ideas about the Kundalini, its purpose and its use.
