Klesha is commonly translated as pain or affliction. In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the five great "causes of affliction" are: Ignorance (avidya), Ego, (amsita - "I-am-ness") Attachment (raga), Revulsion (dvesa - aversion), and Clinging to life (ahbinivesa - will-to-live).
