This is a technique I have borrowed as an amalgam of some elements of Chaldean magic and the Greek papyri. The basic idea is to summon a demon, bind it, acquire it's power for your personal use, and prepare a daily talisman against any undesirable side effects. I have found it to be rather effective.

A word of precaution

According to some traditions, demons are extremely dangerous denizens of the netherworld, so if that includes you, or if you believe that demons can harm you without your consent, this technique works just as well to acquire any sort of spirit more palatable to your tradition. Or you can use it to acquire power from gods, goddesses, friends, enemies, or even fictional characters, such as Mr. Spock or Mr. Magoo.

Ritual Items

  • Strip of cloth or absorbant paper with non-toxic ink or paint (for inscribing)
  • Wine, tea, Diet Coke, or other ritual drink
  • Wide, shallow bowl with salt or some other dry (edible) seasoning

Technique

Construct your ritual however suits you. Once in the proper frame of mind, perform whatever summoning you prefer. However, incorporate a step in the ritual where you inscribe power words and/or sigils using the non-toxic ink or paint onto the strip of cloth/absorbant paper. This is a lure to the demon you wish to summon.

Once the demon is summoned, bind the demon by folding and sealing the cloth/paper with the appropriate sigil.

Bury the sealed cloth/paper in the bowl of salt/seasoning, and perform whatever incantation or act required to transfer the power of the binding to the salt/seasoning.

Next, immerse the sealed cloth/paper into the wine/tea. Allow the ink or paint to dissolve as much as possible into the liquid. While this is happening, perform whatever incantation or act is appropriate to transfer the desired attributes of the demon's power into the liquid. Drink the liquid, and forcefully claim your right to acquire and use the power you've acquired.

Complete the ritual.

Afterwards, keep the salt/seasoning in its own sealed container, and use it daily in your meals. This "recharges" the power you've acquired, and protects you from unpleasant side effects.

Dispose of the cloth/paper as magically appropriate (burn, bury, etc.).

Once, I used sugar as my seasoning, and literally ate a demon for breakfast for a month.
